You need to complete the Emergency First Response course for the Rescue Diver course. This course is for your everyday life. Emergency First Response is designed to meet modern first aid procedure requirements based on ILCOR standards. Courses available in this program can be completed by anyone, whether a diver or not.
Emergency First Response includes two courses: EFR Primary Care – CPR and EFR Secondary Care – First Aid.
In the EFR Primary Care – CPR course, you will learn how to provide primary care in life-threatening situations. You will learn the skills to act appropriately in the event of cardiac arrest, respiratory arrest, severe bleeding, shock and spinal cord injury. You will learn how to monitor basic life-sustaining functions and the basic steps of primary care.
In the EFR Secondary Care – First Aid course, you will learn how to provide care in situations where the immediate threat to life has passed or does not exist. You will learn what to do if emergency services are delayed or not available. In addition, the program includes a number of additional skills: the use of defibrillator, the use of oxygen for assistance.
